What are some cheap, yet still good quality acoustic guitars?

Somewhere in the 300-400 dollar range. I really liked the sound Taylor guitars give but I can’t break 00+. I was told the cheapest I could get was a Yamaha, but I didn’t like the sound at all. Any ideas?
The style I’m looking to play is folk, or some soft rock if that makes a difference.
